Evacuations in Voronezh after drone attack on ammo depot

Authorities in the Voronezh region decided to evacuate residents of two localities after a night attack by Ukrainian drones. The drones targeted an ammunition depot near the village of Malaya Mezhenka. According to authorities, there was no detonation.

The attack occurred before 4 AM local time (10 PM Eastern Time). The governor reported on his Telegram channel that "the air defense forces on duty and electronic warfare equipment in the Rossoshansky district detected and destroyed the unmanned aerial vehicle."

"There was no detonation"

"There was no damage. The fall of drone fragments caused a fire near explosive objects. There was no detonation. However, operational services decided on the temporary evacuation of residents of two settlements," he reported.

According to residents, the drone attacked the ammunition depot in the village of Malaya Mezhenka.

Ukrainians attacked

According to the authorities, air defense shot down as many as eight drones over the Voronezh region. After several hours, the on-site situation was controlled, and the residents could return to their homes.

In a recording published by Astra, a powerful explosion can be heard.

On the same night, an oil depot in the Rostov region was also attacked, leading to a large fire. The federal fuel depot belonging to the Federal Government Reserve Agency of Russia (Rosrezerv) is burning.

This is the second Rosrezerv refinery to burn in the Rostov region. Firefighters are still battling the refinery fire in Protelarsk.
