Biden condemns Russia's Christmas attack on Ukraine
President Joe Biden of the United States sharply criticized the Russian attack on Ukraine on Christmas Day. He emphasized that it was "outrageous" and announced the continuation of arms supplies to Kyiv.
President Biden expressed outrage at the "outrageous attack" by Russia on Ukraine, which took place on Christmas Day.
"The purpose of this outrageous attack was to cut off the Ukrainian people’s access to heat and electricity during winter and to jeopardize the safety of its grid," the president stated.
Biden also informed that he directed the U.S. Department of Defense to continue the enhanced supply of weapons to Ukraine.
Russian attack on energy infrastructure
On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, Russia conducted a massive attack on Ukrainian energy facilities, using 184 missiles and drones. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the attack caused severe damage to the energy infrastructure, and several regions in Ukraine experienced power outages.
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the attack, noting that its target was Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
