Trump slams "crazy" Putin as Kremlin hits back
The Kremlin has responded to a series of recent statements by Donald Trump regarding Russia and Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader’s advisor, Yuri Ushakov, stated that Trump is not sufficiently informed about the events surrounding the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine.
Donald Trump declared on Sunday that Vladimir Putin has "gone absolutely crazy" and warned that if Putin seeks to take control of all of Ukraine, it could lead to the downfall of Russia. The former U.S. President also criticized comments made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, claiming that "everything out of his mouth causes problems."
Putin has "gone absolutely crazy"
Trump emphasized his "good relationship with Putin," but noted that "something happened" to the Russian leader. "He has gone absolutely CRAZY!" Trump stated that Putin is unnecessarily causing the deaths of many people, not only soldiers, by launching missiles and drones into Ukrainian cities without reason.
When asked about these comments, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described them as a sign of "emotional overload" at a "critical time."
On Tuesday, Trump criticized Putin again, saying, "He's playing with fire," In his post, Trump emphasized that "What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD."
Putin's advisor on unfavorable comments
On Wednesday, it was not the Kremlin spokesperson but Putin's own advisor who responded to Trump's statements.
Yuri Ushakov stated that Donald Trump is not sufficiently informed about the events in the context of the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine.
Ushakov claimed that Trump does not receive full information about the alleged terrorist attacks that Ukraine conducts on Russian civilian areas.
Additionally, Ushakov emphasized that Trump does not fully understand that Russia claims to only strike military infrastructure or Ukraine's defense industry targets.
