China's envoy criticizes Trump's treatment of European allies
China's special envoy for European affairs, Lu Shaye, said on Wednesday that he is "appalled" by how President Donald Trump treats America's allies in Europe. He added that a peace agreement on Ukraine should not be determined solely by the USA and Russia.
"When you look at how the Trump administration has implemented a brazen and domineering policy towards Europe, treating its allies in this way, honestly, from a European perspective, it’s quite appalling," he said on Wednesday.
"I believe European friends should reflect on this and compare the Trump administration’s policies with those of the Chinese government. In doing so, they will see that China’s diplomatic approach emphasises peace, friendship, goodwill and win-win cooperation," he added.

Lu made these remarks on the sidelines of a panel discussion with other high-ranking diplomats during the annual session of China's top advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
He acknowledged that talks are underway between the USA and Russia to resolve the crisis but stressed that any peace process must involve the recognition and participation of all interested parties, including European countries.
"Various proposed solutions should be subject to equal discussion, rather than being dictated by a select few," he emphasized.
