According to information reported by RBC-Ukraine, Erdogan highlighted the necessity of dialogue and agreement to end hostilities.
"We can easily end this war"
"We can easily end this war if we see a Trump administration that approaches the issue with a solution-based perspective. More dialogue, diplomacy, agreement will open the door to peace, not weapons, bombs and conflict," said the President of Turkey.
Erdogan expressed his belief that placing greater emphasis on diplomacy could pave the way to peace. He added that Western efforts led by the USA to end the war could significantly speed up reaching an agreement.
Donald Trump previously declared that, if elected, he could ensure peace in Ukraine within 24 hours, although he did not specify how he would resolve this complex conflict, the largest land war in Europe since World War II.
Trump: I will end the war in 24 hours
Turkey supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and condemns Russia's actions but does not support Western sanctions against Moscow. At the same time, it maintains significant relations with Russia in energy, tourism, and defense.
Since March, Turkey has actively called for negotiations and offered mediation. Erdogan noted that his country has already brought both sides to the negotiating table several times and is ready to do so again.
In early September, Trump stated that upon assuming the presidency, he would immediately contact Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate peace within 24 hours. In September, Trump also met with Zelensky, who presented his victory plan. After the talks, Trump emphasized that "we both want to see this end, and we both want to see a fair deal made."
