Europe must unite: Macron's urgent call after Trump meet
The French president has appealed to the European Union residents. He believes Europeans should prepare "for difficult times ahead " and adds that globally, old alliances are being challenged.
During a visit to the Portuguese parliament, Macron said that EU countries should strengthen themselves, especially in "technological, industrial, and defense areas."
His remarks came a few days after meeting with Donald Trump, who has repeatedly criticized NATO member countries. Recently, thanks to his administration, Russia emerged from years of isolation on the international stage.
The French president said Europeans must be convinced of one thing today: we must be united and strong more than ever. He also emphasized the necessity of supporting Ukraine, which, he added, is simultaneously a fight for international law and European security.

Macron further argued that NATO strengthens both Europeans and Americans. He presented this argument to U.S. President Donald Trump during their discussion at the White House on Monday.
