Is Europe at risk of war?

The survey conducted by Le Grand Continent indicates that 55% of Europeans fear war within the European Union. The study covered nine countries, including Poland and Romania, with exceptionally high concerns. Le Grand Continent explains that this anxiety stems from these countries' proximity to Ukraine, which has been grappling with Russian aggression for years.

Negative views on Trump

The survey results show that 51% of respondents consider Donald Trump an enemy of Europe, and 63% claim that his leadership makes the world less stable. Elon Musk also does not enjoy much trust, with as many as 79% of respondents having a negative opinion of him. Le Grand Continent notes that Poles and Romanians are less critical of the new U.S. administration.

The need to create a European army

70% of respondents believe the EU should rely on its defense forces. However, Poland, Italy, and Romania have less conviction about independence from the USA. 60% of respondents support the idea of a common European army, although Poles prefer to rely on their armed forces.

Most Europeans want Ukraine to join the EU by 2030. 56% of respondents from eight countries support this idea, although 55% of the French are skeptical. Le Grand Continent emphasizes that Europeans still wish to help Ukraine despite waning U.S. assistance.
