Fighter jets shot down Shahed drones flying over the Homel region in Belarus during a nighttime Russian attack on Ukraine, reports the independent Belarusian portal Belarusian Hajun. This information has not yet been confirmed by Belarusian authorities or the official government agency belTA.

Belarusian Hajun reported that after 7:30 PM Eastern Time, an explosion occurred in the Homel region. Homel is a Belarusian city located just a few dozen miles from the borders of Russia and Ukraine.

Earlier, the Belarusian channel reported that two Russian Shahed drones flew into Belarusian territory from the Chernihiv region in Ukraine. That night, the Russians launched a massive attack on Ukraine with Shahed drones.

The channel also reported that the Belarusian Air Force scrambled two fighter jets stationed at the Baranovichi airfield.

On Telegram, the portal published a video allegedly filmed at night in Homel. It shows a fiery trail in the sky from the shot-down drone.

"According to reports from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Belarusian Hajun project, this summer, Russian suicide bombers began raids on Belarus. The same project had already reported explosions of Russian drones in Belarus," reminds the Russian portal ASTRA.
