Girkin's surprise release: Kremlin's extremist critic may walk free

Russian propaganda media report that Igor Girkin may be released from prison. The war criminal was imprisoned for "inciting extremist activities." However, it is known that the real reason for Girkin's imprisonment was his open criticism and attempts to ridicule Vladimir Putin's policies.

Recall that Igor Girkin is a former Russian officer who was the commander of Russian forces during the takeover of Donetsk and Sloviansk. He is wanted on an international warrant for the downing of the Malaysia Airlines plane in 2014.

For many years, the Russian extremists enjoyed the protection of the Russian services. The Kremlin tolerated his behavior until now. Since the beginning of the war with Ukraine, Girkin criticized Vladimir Putin's actions. He accused him of "slowness, indecision, and cowardice". He called for general mobilization and genocide of Ukrainians.

It got to the point where Igor Girkin, on his blog, talked about the failures of the Russian army and praised Ukraine for repelling Russian attacks. That was too much for the Kremlin. In August 2023, the international criminal was sent to prison, officially for extremism.

Is Girkin getting out of prison? That's what propagandists claim

Nexta quotes Russian propagandists who believe that Igor Girkin may be released from prison as early as November. The former FSB officer is expected to be released following an appeal hearing in a Russian court.

Interestingly, according to Kremlin sources, Girkin is to become an electrician. He has been training for this profession for a long time.

Kremlin propagandists say that the terrorist may be released after the appeal hearing in November. And now he is allegedly studying to become an electrician in the prison - claims Nexta.

Previously, propaganda sources claimed that after being released from prison, Igor Girkin was to be sent to the war. Ultimately, the Kremlin abandoned this idea due to the extremist tendencies of the former military officer.
