The incident occurred Friday evening in Istanbul, where unknown individuals fired shots at the Iraqi consulate building. According to the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attack resulted in no casualties or material damage. This information was confirmed by the Turkish authorities as well.

According to Reuters, the attackers were on a motorcycle and fired eight shots toward the consulate. The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the perpetrators used AK-47 automatic rifles.
