The ICC, based in The Hague, accuses these individuals of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
The court stated that making this information public and issuing the warrants serves the best interests of the victims and their families.
The court rejected Israel's complaints
Simultaneously, the ICC unanimously issued two decisions rejecting Israel's complaints under articles 18 and 19 of the Rome Statute, as noted in a recent communiqué.
To recap, Israel's first request challenged the ICC's jurisdiction over the situation in Palestine. The second request sought the suspension of all proceedings before the court, including those considering arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, submitted by the prosecution on May 20, 2024.
