The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced on Sunday that the Saturday airstrike on Iranian military targets was a complete success, and all set objectives were achieved.

During the ceremony commemorating the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Netanyahu emphasized his country’s determination to respond to the threats from Iran.

Iran attacked Israel with hundreds of ballistic missiles and this attack failed. We kept our promise. The air force attacked Iran and hit Iran's defence capabilities and missile production, said Netanyahu.

Escalation of the conflict in the Middle East

The Prime Minister of Israel referred to the missile attack that Iran carried out on October 1. Most of the fired missiles were intercepted by Israeli air defense, minimizing the impact of the attack.

The Iranian authorities declared that the operation was retaliation for the killing of leaders supported by Tehran—Palestinian Hamas and Lebanese Hezbollah. Tensions between the countries are increasing, and recent events indicate an escalation of the conflict.

Israel announced further actions to ensure the nation’s security. Netanyahu emphasized that the country will not hesitate to take decisive steps to defend its citizens.
