The governor of Russia's northwestern Murmansk Oblast reported an attack by "hostile drones." The regional authorities decided to close two airports, including the one in Murmansk.

Many of the reports from Russian media or government officials are propaganda. Such information is part of the Russian Federation's information war.

The governor of Murmansk Oblast, Andrey Chibis, reported the drone attack. He appealed on Telegram for people to "understand the temporary restrictions we are forced to implement." He did not provide any further details.

According to the Russian Telegram channel Baza, the "Carpet" operation was implemented in connection with the attack. Flight restrictions exist throughout the Kola Peninsula, particularly in Murmansk and Apatity.

Foreign drones near the northern fleet base

Three unidentified drones were discovered in the Severomorsk area, where the main naval base of the Russian Northern Fleet is located.

According to Chibis, air defense is operational in the region. However, the Russian Ministry of Defense has not confirmed this.

Simultaneously, the ministry reported that on the morning of September 11 at 6:00 AM ET, the Russians shot down two drones over Kursk Oblast and another over Belgorod Oblast.
