Nepali mercenary warns against joining Russian forces

The army of Vladimir Putin comprises not only Russian conscripts but also mercenaries from Asia. One of the captured mercenaries from Nepal decided to recount his experience in the Russian army. The man says he was treated like an animal there.

Ghimire Krishna Chhetri, 47, was captured by Ukrainian soldiers near Bakhmut. He had no prior knowledge of the existence of such a city. He ended up on the front lines because he wanted to pay off his debts. He had previously worked as a security guard on a construction site in Dubai.

The mercenary from Nepal did not expect his "job" to be so dangerous. He decided to return home, but it turned out to be impossible.

It is a one-way road. After signing the contract, returning home was extremely difficult. I met other Nepalis there who had problems similar to mine. No one managed to get out of the army - Ghimire Krishna Chhetri recounted in front of the camera.

The Nepali says the Russians "treated him like an animal"

The man indicates that the Russians treated him terribly. He had no access to food and couldn't wash properly.

They treated us like animals. It's better to stay home with your family. Participating in this war is not a good way to make money - says the captured mercenary.

The Nepali appeals to the residents of India and Nepal not to come to the front. He emphasizes that it is very dangerous for their health and life.

In the footage, the mercenary from Nepal seems relieved to have been captured by Ukrainian soldiers. The 47-year-old's relief is understandable. It may be the only chance for him to see his family again.
