Poll reveals 'fascist' label divides voters on Trump, Harris
Usually, polls before elections in the USA ask who will win. This time, they asked something different: can the candidates be described as fascists? In a poll conducted for ABC television, 49% of respondents used this word for Donald Trump, while 22% used it for Kamala Harris.

The survey was conducted by Langer Research Associates and Ipsos. An overwhelming majority of those who consider Trump a fascist—87%—are Democratic Party voters.
Similarly, 46% of independent voters and 8% of those who declare support for Republicans share this opinion. The poll also showed that almost two-thirds of respondents believe that Trump often deviates from the truth. A similar opinion is held about Harris by 49% of respondents. Furthermore, the majority of the electorate believes that both Trump (52%) and Harris (57%) make promises without intending to fulfill them.
The survey results appeared after statements by former Trump adviser General John Kelly. In interviews with "The New York Times" and "The Atlantic," he stated that Trump meets the dictionary definition of a fascist and praised Hitler and his generals. Previously, similar opinions were expressed by other former Trump associates, including former Defense Secretary James Mattis and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, who described the former president as a "fascist to the core."
During the ongoing election campaign, Donald Trump has repeatedly called Kamala Harris and the Democrats fascists, communists, and Marxists. He often refers to Vice President Harris using the term "Comrade Kamala." Harris addressed these accusations during a Wednesday meeting with voters organized by CNN in Pennsylvania, agreeing with the assessments of former Trump advisers.
When are the elections in the USA?
The presidential elections in the USA will be held on November 5th. In the polls, candidates from both parties are neck and neck. In the latest one, published on Friday by "The New York Times," exactly the same number of respondents—48%—expressed their intention to vote for Harris and Trump.
In the previous poll, published by "The New York Times" on October 8th, the Democratic candidate had a 2% lead over Trump.
