Putin escalates threats: Targets decision centers in Kyiv
The targets of the new Russian missile attacks could be decision-making centers in Kyiv, Vladimir Putin threatened during a propagandistic speech in Astana. In the past, dictators often made similar threats.
Many reports provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information warfare conducted by the Russian Federation.
Putin said that the Russian Ministry of Defense, along with the General Staff, is currently "selecting targets for destruction" on Ukrainian territory.
He said these could be military facilities, defence and industrial enterprises, or decision-making centres in Kyiv.
Putin threatens: "Russia will respond to every attack"
The dictator also declared that Russia would respond to every Ukrainian attack using long-range Western weapons. For this purpose— as he emphasized—the Russian army may use the Oreshnik ballistic missile again. It's the same kind that fell on Dnipro last week.
The dictator stated that his country has several Oreshniks ready for use and has already begun their serial production.
Putin also mentioned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He again called him the "leader of the Kyiv regime," who— in addition to missiles— "begs his patrons for other military equipment."
Putin claimed that the current leadership in Kyiv has lost its legitimacy due to the lack of elections and, therefore, lacks the authority to command the armed forces. He further argued that individuals following orders from Ukraine's government are complicit in its alleged crimes despite these assertions being contrary to the facts.
