Putin promises safety for disarmed troops after Trump's plea
- If they lay down their arms and surrender, they will be guaranteed life and dignified treatment - declared Vladimir Putin in response to Donald Trump’s appeal.
"I have strongly requested to President Putin that their lives be spared. This would be a horrible massacre, one not seen since World War II. God bless them all!!!" - Trump shared in a post on Truth Social on Friday.
Trump also referred to the discussions of his special adviser on the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who met with Putin in Moscow on Thursday. The American president described the meeting as "very good and productive."
"There is a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end" - Trump emphasized.
