Putin's $5.5B arms deal with Kim fuels Russia's war machine
The Naumann Foundation has published a report detailing the financial extent to which Vladimir Putin is compensating Kim Jong Un for military equipment deliveries. Russia may have transferred approximately $5.5 billion to North Korea.
According to the German Friedrich Naumann Foundation, even the most conservative estimates suggest that the value of arms deliveries from North Korea to Russia exceeds $1.7 billion, as reported by NEXTA.
The report states that it is difficult to precisely gauge the quantity of arms delivered from North Korea to Russia because Pyongyang conceals its export data. South Korean security services rely on satellite images and monitor maritime routes to gather information.
Russia strengthens military cooperation with North Korea
The United States and South Korea revealed that in October, at least 3,000 soldiers were transported from North Korea to Russia. Pyongyang plans to dispatch 10,000 troops there by the end of the year. On Thursday, Japanese and Ukrainian media reported that about 2,000 North Korean soldiers, who completed training at military ranges in Russia's Far East, are being transported by train to the European part of the country near the border with Ukraine.
