Russia launches massive assault on Ukraine, costs $1.26 billion

On Monday, August 26, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. Ukraine's civil infrastructure, energy facilities, and residential buildings came under fire. A woman from Odessa shared the devastation inflicted on her apartment on social media. She couldn't hold back her tears; the explosions simply destroyed everything.

On Monday, August 26, the Russians fired 127 missiles and 109 assault drones at Ukraine, of which 102 missiles and 99 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down.

The Russians attacked from the air, land, and sea. According to Ukrainian Pravda, this attack cost Russia $1.26 billion.

That evening, President Zelensky announced that he had discussed the response to the massive attack with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. Zelensky added that the conversation also touched on the use of F-16 fighters in the territory of the Kursk region.
