Russian missile and drone onslaught cripples Ukrainian power
Russian forces launched a massive, combined attack using missiles and drones on Ukraine's energy infrastructure early Thursday morning. Explosions were heard in Kyiv, and threats were reported in areas near the Polish border.
"The Russians continue their terror tactics. They have stockpiled missiles for attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and to conduct warfare against civilians during the freezing winter months. They were aided by their insane allies, particularly from North Korea. Currently, the Russians are conducting a combined shelling of the country. They are even fighting against children. Ukraine has the means to respond," said Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian President's Office.
Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko warned that emergency power outages had been implemented due to the attack.
The energy sector in Ukraine is facing another significant assault, with energy facilities being heavily targeted by enemy forces. Ukrenerho, the transmission system operator, has responded by urgently enacting emergency power outages, as Halushchenko shared on Facebook.
