Russian pilots to receive American helmets from US donors
Russian helicopter pilots will soon receive American helmets provided by Russians living in the United States. How they acquired such equipment remains unknown.
According to the Telegram channel "Wojewoda Wieszajet," it was observed a year ago that Ukrainian pilots were using American HGU-56P helmets.
"It's a very good helmet. It's much better than our ZSh-7V because it's armored," the channel's host wrote.
"My good friends, Russians from the USA, provided me with 10 such helmets at the beginning of the war," he emphasized.
The helmets will be given to Russian pilots
The channel's author modified the helmets to integrate them with Russian systems. To assist in this, he asked soldiers to retrieve equipment from Ukrainian pilots from helicopters that had crashed in areas occupied by Russia.
"Wojewoda" noted that he now intends to hand over the modified helmets to "our best pilots" of Ka-52 helicopters. He added that he does not plan to buy more because they are "costly."
