Russian soldier's fatal drone fail highlights military incompetence

Astonishingly bad luck and, at the same time, sheer stupidity. This is how one can describe the behavior of the Russian soldier who was killed on the front lines of the war with Ukraine. The man was convinced he could outmaneuver a Ukrainian drone. As it turned out, he was gravely mistaken, and his attempt to flee ended with a strike from the unmanned aircraft.

Russia sends untrained soldiers who do not know how to behave in difficult situations to the front. Often, the military lacks sharpness, creating significant danger for themselves and their companions.

We have seen examples of this many times in videos shared online. It's the same this time. A Russian soldier died during a clash with Ukraine because he did not exercise proper caution and additionally wanted to steal a combat drone. How did this happen?

A video has surfaced online showing the "clash" between the fleeing soldier and the Ukrainian drone. The scatterbrained soldier was running away from the armed device, but he couldn’t run for long.

The man did not intend to surrender. He caught the drone with his hands and ran away with it. It is not entirely clear what the purpose of such behavior was. At one point, it appeared the Russian soldier wanted to steal a combat aircraft.

The end of the entire incident was not fortunate for the Russian soldier. After a few dozen feet, a remote detonator on the device was activated, and the drone exploded in the "unlucky" man’s hands. The explosion was so strong that the man died on the spot.

For the vast majority of Russian soldiers, the war with Ukraine is an opportunity to make money. Some are still waiting for payment from the Kremlin, which is hard to come by. Others want to get rich by robbing Ukrainians. Such a bold theft of a drone may not have been seen before.
