Trump considers turkey trip for crucial Russia-Ukraine talks
U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned he is considering a trip to Turkey for the Russian-Ukrainian talks on Thursday. He stated that he would make the trip if it proves to be "helpful."
- I think you’re going to have … maybe a good meeting, you have the potential for a good meeting. A meeting wasn’t going take place, and I insisted that that meeting take[s] place. You may have a good result out of the Thursday meeting in Turkey … and I believe the two leaders are going to be there - Trump remarked at a press conference before flying to Saudi Arabia.
I was thinking about flying over. I don’t know where I am going be on Thursday, I’ve got so many meetings … There’s a possibility there I guess if I think things can happen - he added.
Trump later mentioned he would attend the talks in Turkey "if [he] thinks things can happen."
