Trump lashes out at justice system, claims political persecution
- The Harris-Biden Department of Justice is trying to throw me in jail - said Donald Trump. The former US president participated in a pre-election rally in Wisconsin on Saturday. He repeatedly lamented that prosecutors are trying to prevent him from running in the November election.

Observers point out that the pre-election rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, took place a few days before the announced first, and probably only, debate with his competitor in the race for the White House, current Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump appeared before his supporters behind bulletproof glass, a consequence of the July 13th assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was slightly injured.
"The Harris-Biden DOJ is trying to throw me in jail — they want me in jail — for the crime of exposing their corruption," the former US president accused his political opponents.
The AP agency emphasizes in this context that there is no evidence that President Biden or Vice President Harris had any influence on the decisions of the Department of Justice or local jurisdictions regarding the indictment of Trump.
It also reminds us that the Republican candidate spoke the day after he appeared in court in connection with an appeal from a decision finding him responsible for sexual harassment.
A few hours later, a Manhattan judge announced that the verdict in his bribery case was postponed until after the elections. The verdict was previously scheduled for September 18th.
Trump on "banana republic"
During the rally in Mosinee, Trump once again criticized his Democratic rival. In his opinion, if - as he put it - "comrade Kamala Harris," becomes President of the USA, the country will literally turn into a "banana republic" governed by anarchy.
He also denounced the Biden administration's immigration policy, calling the Democrats' approach to immigration issues "suicidal."
