Trump sparks royal outrage with 'king' image on White House account
After the publication of an image showing Trump with a crown, posted on the White House account, New York Governor Kathy Hochul reacted with outrage. Politicians noted: "We don't have kings in America."
"Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING,” wrote Donald Trump, announcing on his social media platform Truth Social that tolls for entering paid parking zones do not apply.
A similar post, along with the image of Trump in a crown, was posted on the White House account on Platform X.
Following the publication, numerous comments about its content appeared online, which were summarized by politicians or commentators.
The issue was addressed by New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who wrote: "Donald Trump isn't a 'king' and we won't let him use New Yorkers as roadkill on his revenge tour. We’ll see him in court."
"We don’t have kings in the USA," summed up Don Beyer, a Democrat from Virginia.
"Republicans: Republicans: Stop overreacting and calling Trump a king. Literally the White House twitter account:" wrote David Hogg, vice-chairman of the National Democratic Committee, posting the image below.
"As Governor of Illinois, my oath is to the Constitution of our state and our nation.We don’t have kings in America, and I won’t bend the knee to one," stated JB Pritzker.
