Ukraine drones take down Russia's prized Terminator vehicle

Russians will long remember the events near Kurakhove during the war in Ukraine. It was there that Ukrainians once again demonstrated the power of drones and highlighted the shortcomings of Russian technological capability. Near this small town, the Ukrainian army destroyed another BMPT "Terminator."

The war in Ukraine has been ongoing for over two and a half years, with the front experiencing unexpected developments that have frequently exposed the vulnerabilities of both sides. The ongoing military operations have also cast doubt on the narrative of the strength of the Russian defense industry.

It has become apparent that, although the Russians produce and repair large quantities of military equipment, the quality of these assets on today's battlefield is often lacking. This issue is not limited to outdated Soviet-era tanks; even the latest developments from the Russian defense industry have proven ineffective on the front lines.

Such is the case with the heavy combat vehicle BMPT Terminator, which engaged in battle near Kurakhove alongside 13 armored combat vehicles. However, thanks to the Ukrainian 79th Assault Brigade, drones managed to destroy most of these vehicles, likely including the BMPT Terminator.

Pearls of the Russian combat arsenal are losing in Ukraine

Suppose reports of the destruction of the BMPT Terminator heavy combat vehicle are confirmed. In that case, it will mean that Ukrainians successfully eliminated another costly piece of equipment, previously regarded as one of the prized assets of the Russian defense industry.

This vehicle is highly impressive in terms of armament and armor, and it features an unmanned turret meant to provide greater safety for the crew. Yet, its effectiveness on the battlefield remains questionable.

Initially, propaganda promoted it as one of the most effective vehicles in the Russian arsenal, but as early as 2022, modern technology overpowered it in incidents.
