The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a fuel depot in Yartsevo, located in the Smolensk region, with confirmation provided by the General Staff of Ukraine. The depot, situated 37 miles northeast of Smolensk, served as a key supply point for the Russian army engaged in operations in Ukraine.

The attack occurred early Tuesday morning and was executed by the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces in collaboration with the Unmanned Systems Forces. The operation led to an explosion and subsequent fire, generating heavy smoke in the area. According to the General Staff of Ukraine, tanks containing petroleum products ignited at the depot. Russian media have previously reported that the attack was conducted using Ukrainian drones. The Polish Press Agency also shared information about the attack.

Attack on the depot in Yartsevo

Ukrainian drones targeted an oil depot in Yartsevo, within the Smolensk region, initiating a fire. Russian authorities are managing the situation and investigating the attack, while images from the site swiftly circulated on Ukrainian Telegram channels. Drones from the Security Service of Ukraine also struck an ammunition depot at the Kadamovsky training ground, creating significant logistical challenges for the Russians. This attack forms part of a broader Ukrainian strategy to undermine the enemy's combat capability.

Ukrainian armed forces destroyed 40 fuel tank cars belonging to the Russian army in the Zaporizhzhia region. The operation also involved damaging railway tracks, halting deliveries from Crimea, and complicating Russia's logistical capabilities. Ukraine's recent drone attacks are part of a comprehensive strategy focused on disrupting Russia's logistical support. These successful operations could significantly affect Russian forces' operational capabilities in Ukraine.
