After a video conference on Ukraine hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, President Volodymyr Zelensky firmly stated that peace in Ukraine must be unconditional and that Russia’s stance on the deployment of peacekeeping forces within Ukrainian territory should not be considered.

He pointed out that Kyiv is not only talking with Europe but also taking concrete actions, such as providing assistance to Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that the buildup of Russian forces signals Moscow’s continued disregard for diplomacy and its clear intent to prolong the war. He assured that Ukraine is prepared to share accurate intelligence with its partners regarding the situation at the front, in the Kursk region, and along the border.

Zelensky referred to intelligence data

President Volodymyr Zelensky assured that Ukrainian forces remain present in the Kursk region, dismissing claims of their encirclement as Russian propaganda. With intelligence data flowing again, he warned allies that Moscow aims to surround Ukrainian troops not only in Kursk but also within Ukraine’s borders, seeking to assert maximum military presence.

He emphasized that he doesn't want to argue with partner countries.

President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking with evident emotion, refrained from debating with Ukraine’s partners. Instead, he urged them to use their satellites to track Russian troop movements. He suggested that closely monitoring these developments would clarify Moscow’s intentions.

President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Russia’s actions as incompatible with genuine peace efforts while expressing deep gratitude to the European Union for its commitment to strengthening defense capabilities. Acknowledging a $160 billion investment in European security, he emphasized the importance of ensuring Ukraine has equal opportunities and voiced hope for the initiative’s success.

Russians do not want peace

As Zelensky assessed, the Russians show that they do not want peace in the war against his country.

A U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal has been on the table since Tuesday, calling for a complete halt to hostilities on land, at sea, and in the air for 30 days. President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that this unconditional truce could create a crucial window to negotiate the foundations of a lasting peace without further bloodshed.
