Ukrainian drones attacked a federal fuel depot belonging to the Federal Reserve Agency of the Russian government (Rosrezerv) in the middle of the night. After the attack, the "Atlas" refinery in the Rostov region's Kamensky district caught fire. "It was a crazy explosion," said the residents.

The explosion occurred around 8 a.m. Eastern Time. Residents heard a whistling sound followed by several explosions. "It was a crazy explosion," says one of them in the recording.

As reported by the Russian Ministry of National Defense, four drones were shot down over the Rostov region. Governor Vasily Golubev added that no one was killed or injured. However, he noted that "this information is being verified."

Ukrainian drones attacked the Rosrezerv "Atlas" refinery. Independent Russian journalists had already reported that these plants supplied oil products to the Russian army.

Another fire in the region

"In August 2020, joint exercises of the Ministry of National Defense and Rosrezerv took place at the plant as part of the Caucasus-2020 exercises. During the demonstration exercises, three methods of delivering oil products for military needs were tested – by road, rail, and pipeline," Astra determined.

- "Atlas is on fire again. I'm afraid to sleep," says a resident.

The last attack on the "Atlas" plants occurred at the beginning of August. At that time, the fire was not as extensive as it is now.

This is the second Rosrezerv refinery to burn in the Rostov region. Firefighters are still battling the fire at the refinery in Protelarsk.
