"Further attacks on Kharkiv prove the validity of Ukrainian strategy"
"Russia is terrorizing Kharkiv again. Attacks on civilian infrastructure in the city. Currently, there are over 30 injured. All necessary forces are involved in the rescue operation," said the president on Telegram.
Attacks on civilian targets
Ordinary civilian objects - shopping center, Sports Palace, city buildings. Every such strike on Kharkiv, on our other cities and villages, proves the correctness of our tactics, especially in the Kursk region: we must bring the war to their doorstep, from where it was brought to Ukraine. And not only to the border regions of Russia," emphasized Zelensky.
He also assured that Ukraine is intensifying efforts to increase the range of its weapons to cover more military and critical industrial targets within Russia.
Ukrainian forces need effective tools
"To force Russia to peace, to move from false rhetoric about negotiations to steps aimed at ending the war, to clear our land of occupation and occupiers, we also need effective tools," emphasized Zelensky.
On the same day, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that Russian forces carried out about 10 attacks on the city, resulting in 28 people being injured, including a six-year-old child. These data were also confirmed by local authorities in the Kharkiv region.
Target: Energy infrastructure
Russian troops also attacked an energy facility in Kharkiv, reported the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy. "Currently, the effects of the shelling are being removed," reads the communiqué.
According to the information, the Russian army carried out a massive attack on Kharkiv using Iskander-M and S-300/400 missiles. "The prosecutor's office and police established that the enemy fired two Iskander-M ballistic missiles toward the shopping center in the Saltivsky district of Kharkiv," it was reported.
"Three Iskander-M missiles hit the Sports Palace building in the Nemyshliansk district, and three S-300/400 missiles hit the neighboring area," the communiqué noted.
