The Prime Minister on the need for quick reaction

Prime Minister Keir Starmer stressed that the UK must be ready to react swiftly in the event of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. Although not attending the European Union summit, Starmer addressed its main topic: defense and support for Ukraine.

"Now we're working at pace because we don't know if there'll be a deal," he noted. "I certainly hope there will be, but if there's a deal, it's really important that we're able to react straight away. (Our) plans are focusing on keeping the sky safe, the sea safe and the border safe and secure in Ukraine, and working with the Ukrainians," he emphasized.

Summit in London

In London, Starmer will meet with military commanders from approximately 30 countries. The discussions will concern plans related to proposed peacekeeping forces for Ukraine. This meeting aims to discuss strategies and prepare for possible changes in the situation in Ukraine.
